What is the definition of a family channel?
Please do not give your own definition. I would like a source from which you obtained the definition. I am working on a debate, and I want to give the definition, and I've been searching for hours, but I cannot find one.

- You'll probably want to read up on the FCC's V-chip regulation. http://www.fcc.gov/vchip/ TV programs are rated according to a system that indicates the target of the programming. Barny the Dinosaur or Sesame Street are specifically target toward children, so they're kid-friendly, but I don't imagine most families would enjoy spending an evening watching it together. And then there are G-rated programs which are considered acceptable for the entire family, even though it may not be targeted specifically for children. Even so, some puritan had a problem with Teletubbies because one of them was purple and had a triangle on his head. I don't think there is a 'legal' definition of a Family channel.. I've seen a channel called ABC Family, but they could call themselves whatever they want. It's the public acceptance of their programming that would dictate the continued use of the term, not a legal standard. Family-friendly might be a more appropriate term, but still just as ambiguous and subject to interpretation.
